Raag Kedar 

   I once heard heaven in Bismillah Khan's Kedar. For hours. He forgot to stop. Ever since, Kedar is essentially Bismillah Khan's territory. To me. 

   Perhaps that is why Bismillah Khan's piece is clearly my favorite in this selection of brilliant renditions by Mogubai Kurdikar, Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Sahib,
Kesarbai Kerkar and an all time favorite, Amir Khan's Chandani Kedar. I wish for Kumar Gandharva's "Kanganawa mora"  and his "Main Gaoon Pad Gaoon" which I think of as the beginning of all music but be that this way...

   The film section is good too. However, it is clearly the classical that is more enchanting. The majesty of Kedara cannot be hurried. Time needs to hold still. Kedar comes majestically alive under Mr. Parrikar's pen at:
