At the bottom of this sheet you will find a link to a book in pdf format. This book dicusses the mathematics and engineering of image and video codecs. It is written in the easiest possible style I hope, and written to be enjoyed. I welcome your comments, suggestions, and corrections.

I realize that I have left unfinished the article on "Transformations" that I started a long while back. I think I will wrap that article into this book at an appropriate place. Till such time however I will let it stand on its own.
